Referee Program

Every Wednesday afternoon, Mueller Touch Academy Refs officiate down at Redcliffe Touch. It’s great seeing our students serve our local club in an area of need by refereeing. Our students, however, receive more than they give – as this pathway provides them with a range of opportunities, life skills, and friendships. This term, our 24 refs will referee across a range of competitions, including Mueller primary classic, Brisbane All Schools, Primary Sunshine Coast All Schools, and Redcliffe & Caboolture Club competitions. Intake for the program occurs late Term 4 so keep your eyes peeled for 2025 opportunities.

Sunshine Coast Regional All Schools

Well done Mueller Touch Academy on a great tournament at the Sunshine Coast All Schools. This is the single biggest step the Touch Academy has ever taken.
Having never achieved above a 40% win rate, our goal was a 50% win rate, and we achieved a 66% win rate!! Mueller is super proud of your achievement.
U13 Girls: 5 wins, 1 loss. These girls won every game except losing to Cav Rd 1-2. This saw them coming an impressive 3rd.
U13 Boys: 5 wins. 1 loss. They won every game, only to lose 1-2 to Cav Rd in the grand final. Our most successful result ever at the Sunny Coast All Schools.
U15 Girls: 2 wins and 3 losses. Two of their losses were narrow. This is our best result for 15 girls.
U15 Boys: 3 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss. The boys showed the power of their structure by beating the best team in their pool; however, they failed to progress to the semi-finals due to a tough loss against a team that finished below them.
U18 Girls: 2 wins, 1 draw, 2 loss. The team stuck to their processes, losing only to two Qld Top 6 schools.
U18 Boys: 3 wins, 2 loss. The boys lost in their semi-final 3-4. This is, however, the best result from an 18 boys team yet at the Regional All Schools.
Thanks to players, parents and coaches for all your effort buying into the program. Behind the skill and the sport are more important things like friendship, inner character, and service.

Junior State Cup

Over the recent school holidays, approximately 20 of our Touch Academy players have represented either Redcliffe Touch or Caboolture Touch at the club’s state carnival. This was a big deal for Redcliffe Touch as it was the first time in a long time they had entered teams into the Junior State Cup. It is a privilege for Mueller to help play a part in generating a player base for our local club. As a school, we are lucky to have a local club so close to all that it provides.

Well done to all of our 2024 JSC players. We hope to see many more of our players and coaches in the years to come representing both Redcliffe & Caboolture. We also had 3 players from our Referee Program refereeing across the 3-day carnival. Well done on being Mueller’s first ever referees at a JSC!

The Junior State Cup training and carnival take place all throughout the Mueller Touch Academy Off-Season (Term 2), making it a great option for increased development playing against high-level competition. We will provide all information to our academy players in Term 1 next year for the 2025 Junior State Cup.

Touch Academy Regional Reps

Well done to the following five Mueller Touch Academy players who played in the recent School State Carnival for the Sunshine Coast Regional Team: Harlow McLennan, Hudson Sturges, Bodhi Wallen, Kody Hockey, & Imogen Harris. Thankyou for representing Mueller well and for using your success to serve your team mates rather than just yourself in the current All-Schools Season.
