Year 12 student, Sophie Slade, was recently selected to represent Mueller College at Griffith University’s SHEP program, in the Percy Grainger Wind Orchestra playing flute. Sophie has attended several SHEP programs during her high school years, but as she is about to graduate, this was to be her final opportunity.

SHEP programs are the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University’s State Honours Ensemble Programs. They are educational programs for music students that help extend and encourage their pursuit of musical excellence. The program has grown from relatively modest beginnings in 2001 with SHEP now a firmly established aspect of music learning in Queensland, bringing together young people from all over the State to share their passion for making music.

Congratulations to Sophie!
