Graduation Night saw friends and family of Year 12 students gather for a hearty celebration to mark the end of 13 years of schooling. Graduands made a special entrance before reflecting on the sacrifice of their ‘people’ who had supported them along the schooling journey. Valedictory speeches from the 2024 School Captains, musical performances, and an address from the Head of College, Paul Valese, addressed the end of one season and the start of a new one, and a special moment to acknowledge past student Asher Mashonganyika, gave the cohort space to honour their lost classmate.
Each student then had their moment to walk the stage and receive their graduation certificate – a significant milestone! The evening finished with worship and students were prayed for and released to begin the next few days of celebration.
Year 12 were invited to a fun breakfast on their last day, complete with games and food. The time was created for them to connect with teachers for the last time, with both students & teachers bringing various thank-you gifts, including personalised pickleball paddles, engraved keychains, and heartfelt cards.
Afterwards, the cohort ran to their final Chapel, taking the helm with thank-you clips, dances, teacher impersonations, and a real-life game of ‘dress to impress’. They nominated ‘Mama Tahere’ to share the final chapel message, and she encouraged them that ‘God isn’t done with you yet’. Year 12 then left through an honour tunnel as the rest of Secondary farewelled them, and they said goodbye to school for the very last time.
