On Friday, May 23rd, the Year 11 and 12 Senior Music students, along with Arts staff Miss Ham, Mr Rule, Mr Sweetman, Ms Schmidt, and Mrs Riek, attended a captivating performance at QPAC, where the Queensland Symphony Orchestra presented a concert celebrating the music of Hans Zimmer. The evening featured insightful commentary from composition professors, making it both an enriching and educational experience.
The program showcased iconic scores from Inception, The Lion King, Interstellar, and Gladiator, offering a dynamic journey through Zimmer’s expansive musical repertoire. Spanning genres and decades—from the 1980s to the present—the concert highlighted everything from the brooding power of The Dark Knight to the uplifting charm of Kung Fu Panda. Students were in awe of the power of experiencing a live orchestra—an unforgettable encounter with the brilliance of the Zimmer effect.
