Year One headed to the sandpit last week to learn about capacity. Armed with a small container and a large container, they had to see how many full small containers of sand would fit in the larger one. Then, to make things tricky, they were given a different small container to start the process all over again and record their findings.
Students learned to use language like ‘full,’ ’empty,’ ‘more than,’ and ‘less than’ to describe the amount of sand in each container. Take a look at the learning in progress…
