Day one of the Primary Athletics carnival saw students competing in the 200m race, 800m race, discus, high jump, long jump, and shot put, as well as some novelty events. The day began with some war cries led by the sports captains to get the competitive juices flowing! The age groups then headed to different corners of the ovals for their events, and the looming clouds largely held out for the day.
The novelty events gave the less serious athletes some fun activities to try with relays, foam javelins and Nerf gun wars on the play towers.
They’ll be back today for the 100m heat and finals to finish off the competition.
