As part of the Year 10 Recreation curriculum, students across four classes have been practising their canoeing skills. This unit provided an opportunity for students to apply their learning in the dam right here on campus. Throughout the module, they adapted their paddling techniques and group strategies, developing not only their canoeing confidence but also their teamwork and leadership abilities.

By the end of the unit, students demonstrated correct paddle technique, water safety, an understanding of different canoe designs, and the ability to work collaboratively to ensure the success of their group. They also practised the T-rescue and safely getting back into their canoe after capsizing.
