The Music Soiree last week was the culmination of two years of hard work for our Year 12 students. The event is designed for them to use for their final performance assessment and to share their compositions at listening stations. They shared the night with the Year 11’s, who were gaining their own experience and some other musical helpers who stepped in to fill out the arrangements.
We heard everything from a Bollywood classic to a Billie Eilish ballad, the alternate sounds of Radiohead to a musical theatre classic from Wicked. Each student conquered nerves and worked collaboratively to bring their own touch to their performances. They finished the evening with a classic tune from Abba, and to our senior Music students, we say right back to you – ‘thank you for the music’.
