In Secondary assembly recently, the Touch Football Academy Athletes of the Year and the Basketball Academy Athletes of the Year were announced.
TOUCH ACADEMY
The Touch Academy is the pinnacle individual award of the program, measured against the four academy pillars of Character, Gather, Reform & Skill.
The nominees for the female award were Emmie, Duell, Isabella Taylor, Ava Shield and Rebekah Freeman. Isabelle Taylor was awarded the top honour, citing her humility and ability to champion her teammates to success.
The nominees for the male award were Sean Hermann, Luan Jordaan, Toby Riddell and Isaac Tatters. Isaac ultimately took home the award after honing his abilities over five years in the academy and approaching the game with both skill and leadership.
BASKETBALL ACADEMY
The top athletes in the Basketball Academy are defined by their ability to carry the defining academy characteristics of ‘Hustle & Heart’.
The nominees for the female Basketball Academy Athlete of the Year were Analeigh Pittman, Noelle Sipsma and Eve White. The winner was Noelle Sipsma!
The nominees for the male Basketball Academy Athlete of the Year were Christopher Watts, Luan Jordaan and McCoy Zinyama. Congratulations to Christopher Watts!
