Throughout the Bible, we see countless examples of men and women whom God intentionally placed in specific times and places. Moses, Daniel, Esther, and Joseph often went through seasons of preparation. What may have seemed like delays or setbacks were actually vital moments, shaping them for their unique purpose at just the right time in God’s plan. Ephesians 2:10 states, “For we are God’s handywork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”. The trials they endured were not wasted; they were shaping tools in the hands of a sovereign God.
Your own challenges may be the very thing God is using to set you up. Think of a slingshot, its power comes from how far it’s pulled back. That tension and stretching, while uncomfortable, is what gives the launch its reach and impact. In the same way, the pressures you face may be preparing you for something greater.
There will be days when disappointment creeps in. When doors you prayed would open remain closed. When the timeline you imagined slips through your hands. In those moments, it’s tempting to feel forgotten or frustrated. But if we could peer down the corridor of eternity, we’d see what God sees. We’d understand why the “not yets” and the detours were necessary.
Romans 8:28 reminds us of a powerful truth: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” God doesn’t waste anything. Not a tear, not a delay, not even a dead end. He weaves every moment, every struggle, into the fabric of His greater purpose for your life.
So today, take heart. If you feel pulled back, stretched thin, or held in place, know this: You are being positioned. Trust the One who sees the end from the beginning. He is not just preparing the blessing for you. He is preparing you for the blessing.
