Now in its third year, the Mueller Volleyball Academy had over 80 students participating in 9 teams this year. The girls outnumbered the boys with a total of 5 teams. It is pleasing to see so many of our students trying the sport for the first time and growing in both ability and confidence. Volleyball is a growing sport within our local area and the strength of Brisbane Outer Schools League (BOSL) and Inter-School Sport alike keeps improving.
Whilst we had some great success with our Senior Girls team taking out the Division 1 BOSL Championship it was the willingness for all players to own their space and contribute to their respective teams that was most pleasing. From our Year 12’s representing Mueller for a final time; through to our youngest and newest players, all played a part in making 2025 a great year for the Mueller Volleyball Academy.
The whole academy celebrated the season last week at the Volleyball Academy awards. Players were awarded ‘most improved’, ‘player’s player’, ‘the soldier’ award, ‘culture king/queen’ and MVP’s, and their teams and families cheered them on as they accepted their medals. Academy players of the year were awarded to Erica Grimsey and Eli Peacock, and the team of the year went to the Senior Girls.
