After fundraising and preparing during the 2025 school year, our team of students and staff finally travelled to Nepal during the summer holidays. The fundraising support and devoted prayer of the Mueller community made this trip possible and the team were incredibly grateful for the opportunity.

The trip was both challenging and spiritually formative. Students shadowed local guides in villages, chatted with people who were open and hospitable, and often ended up with a little crowd and chairs pulled out for deep conversations. They found simple things like kicking a ball around and crafting with loom bands to be a great way to connect, opening up opportunities to share their testimonies and to pray for people.

The service element of the visit was very hands-on with students helping a family by working on a home build, including digging a massive hole with shovels and picks. Going without a lot of comforts stretched everyone, but students kept coming back to the truth that our joy isn’t tied to circumstances. They were so keen to embrace the experience and didn’t complain even without wifi!

The team had daily devotions together focusing on Philippians and helping to shape their processing of the all they had seen, especially the idea of ‘joy in the journey’. They’ve come home with a heart-changing, perspective-shifting experience to take into their own unfolding stories.
