Last week, over 100 staff and students chose to cut, colour or shave their hair in support of the World’s Greatest Shave and the Leukaemia Foundation.
Some have been personally touched by the suffering of cancer, others were moved to be a part of a greater solution, and some simply want to play a role in the community movement. All of them stepped into the action of living out the ‘You Belong’ message with a 1 John 3:16 heart – ‘Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth’.
So three cheers for everybody who took part, from Mrs Brinkman who now has a new bob, to Harrison who has been in our top 5 fundraiser two years in a row, and Miri who had mum come along to help in her momentous shave moment. Ruby raised over the threshold to shave her head at the last minute and decided to take the plunge, and Cullen took his last opportunity as a Year 12 to join the no. 2 blade gang. Year 7 students Harlow and Jaxon led the way in the individual fundraising, with Harlow raising over $2000 and Jaxon over $3500!
As a team, and with the incredible support of every family member and friend who contributed, Mueller raised over $80,000! The result made us the #2 fundraisers in Qld and the #8 fundraisers in Australia, and, more importantly, means making a real difference in the progress of blood cancer research and support for patients and families facing some of the toughest moments of their lives. Well done team Mueller!
