Some weeks at school are quieter, steadier, and more predictable. And then there are weeks like this one… full of movement, energy, and opportunity.
This week, many of our students are stepping out to represent Mueller in a wide range of activities. Across the week, students are involved in touch, netball and basketball competitions, regional cross country, soccer, dance, and athletics. Others are preparing for A Night with Mueller Musicians, taking part in the Accounting competition, attending Volleyball Academy Camp, or serving at a local school through the Chaplaincy service.
It’s a full week. A big week. And a meaningful one. Because moments like these are about so much more than results.
They are about courage — stepping onto a court, a field, or a stage, sometimes with nerves, sometimes with excitement, and choosing to give it a go.
They are about character — showing resilience when things don’t go your way, humility in success, and perseverance when it’s hard.
And they are about belonging — learning to encourage, support, and celebrate one another, standing side by side, and knowing you’re part of something bigger than yourself.
We’re reminded in Colossians 3:23:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
Whether our students are competing, performing, serving, or cheering from the sidelines, the invitation is the same: give your best, encourage others, and honour God in the way you participate.
As parents, these are the moments we often find ourselves on the sidelines, cheering, encouraging, sometimes holding our breath, or offering a quiet “you’ve got this” on the way out the door. These experiences shape our children in ways that go far beyond what we can measure.
As you talk with your child this week, you might ask:
- “What did you enjoy most?”
- “Who did you encourage today?”
- “What was something challenging, and how did you respond?”
Because in the end, it’s not just about what they did, but who they are becoming. We’re so proud of every student who is stepping in, stepping up, and representing our community this week.
