Year 9 Business students culminated their term of learning with a Business Showcase last week. In groups, students were required to create a business and delve into the planning stages, including developing a marketing plan, researching competitors, breaking down costs & profit projections, investigating scalability, and creating a long-term plan for growth and success.
The top six groups were given the opportunity to present their plan to a panel, including Mueller’s CFO, David Litke, Middle School Co-ordinator, Brayden Hargrave, and owner of Australian Steak Co, Maria Jardines.
Parents were invited to come along to roam the showcase as students gave their best elevator pitch before listening to the groups present their idea. Visitors then voted for their favourite business idea and groups were awarded for People’s Choice, best elevator pitch, most innovative product, and the overall showcase winner. Congratulations to Leah, Calliope and Clara, who created a protein spread in Bischoff, peanut butter and hazelnut flavours called SPRO, with donations going to the Butterfly Foundation.
