Certificate III in Events students were busy serving the community last week, ticketing at the Jetty 2 Jetty event over the weekend. With over 6000 participants, Jetty to Jetty is one of the leading sports and community events held on the Redcliffe Peninsula. This year marks the fortieth anniversary of the event and the introduction of a full marathon in the race length.
The event provides real-world learning outcomes for these Year 12 students and a terrific introduction to serving within their local community. A real shout-out to these students who braved a 5 am start to serve others. Some also ticketed non-stop on the Friday before the event as pre-registrations commenced early. These students made the event possible and encouraged runners as they finished, handing out medals and offering well-deserved congratulations.
