This time next week, a team of senior students and 4 teachers will be in Vanuatu, starting a 13-day trip. The team will be visiting villages to gain an understanding of local culture, build relationships and share the gospel. They will also be helping with some campus improvements at a school, including painting, and building a new toilet block.
Over the last couple of weeks, the team have had help from Primary students who came on board to make bracelets to gift to students in Vanuatu. These bracelets have different coloured beads that help the wearer remember the gospel story. They’ve also got bags packed with extra toys, stickers, stationery and treats to share.
The team spoke at Secondary Chapels last week, playing a ‘packing’ game and sharing about their hopes and expectations for the visit. Mr and Mrs Zylstra shared that the trip will no doubt hold some challenges but they’re confident the students will find joy in their giving, gain an appreciation for what we have in Australia, and also experience a fuller understanding of Jesus as they see him at work in another culture.
Please join us in covering Mr & Mrs Zylstra, Mr Snape, Mr Redman and the student team in prayer as they head off next week.
