This week we hear from Mrs Riek who loves all things ‘music’…
What brought you to Mueller?
I have four children here so that was a big part of it! I have worked in Education Queensland for a while, and really love the culture here at Mueller, so when a position came up in my teaching area, I jumped at the chance!
What is your current role?
I am working in Primary music where I teach some year 1 and year 2 classes, and I also take the beginner and intermediate band, and do group concert band lessons, and private music lessons.
What are you most passionate about in teaching/your role?
Seeing kids learn to play an instrument, and then really let themselves be taken somewhere either in playing or listening to music is awesome! Music is everywhere – in the shops, in restaurants, in cars, and I love helping kids be a part of that.
What was your very first job?
I was a Coles Checkout Chick

Pretty boring – Latte!
