This term lunchtime club, ‘Oby’, started back up again after the COVID season’s forced hiatus. The group is for Year 5 and 6 boys and runs at morning tea.

‘Oby’ is short for ‘Obadiah’ – a figure in the Bible known for being a man of God. Oby was started many years ago at the instigation of a Year 9 student who wanted to create an environment where he could help younger boys understand what it means to become men of God. Under the mentorship of Mr K, Oby was born.

Today Oby gathers anywhere from 5 to 50 boys each week on Mondays. It usually involves some games, a devotion, and a good chance of winning a lolly or two. This week Mr K shared his testimony of becoming a believer exactly 50 years ago, and the senior boys shared about what God’s faithfulness looks like in their lives.
