Tuesdays this term see our Year 11 cohort gathering for their Christian Studies stream. This week Mr Mann covered the topic of conflict resolution and highlighted the importance of the skill as it applies to all sorts of relationships – from those in the home to school, and future workplaces.

After covering the symptoms of conflict, the Year 11’s took time to determine their individual conflict resolution style/personality and discussed how it relates to the personalities of those in their friendship circle. They were even asked to identify which of their teachers might be ‘yielders’, ‘winners’ or ‘compromisers’ which elicited some humorous responses.

Most importantly, Mr Mann unfolded the principles Jesus laid out in Matthew 18 which speak to dealing with conflict directly and using a trusted mediator if needed. With a biblical basis, the Year 11’s were equipped with a vital life skill that will serve them in the years to come.
