Year 12 Film, TV, and New Media students had a New Media Day where they spent time exploring the latest trends in digital entertainment.

The class had the chance to engage with virtual reality by playing games with VR headsets, using an interactive quiz platform to play against each other, and delving into an interactive movie where they chose the outcome much like the old-school ‘choose-your-own-adventure’ books.

But it wasn’t all just fun and games – the class spent time discussing the ethical implications of virtual decision-making within these platforms, pondering whether decisions made online were a reflection of real-life character or existed independently – an interesting discussion in light of VR platforms like the Metaverse becoming a reality.
