Two weeks ago as a College we launched the 2022 ‘Shave for a Cure’ to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.  On March 18th in ‘You Belong’ week we are involved as a College in ‘The World’s Greatest Shave’! There are over 50 students from Years 5-12 who are either cutting or colouring their hair – or shaving it all off! Last year we raised over $45,000 for this great cause. We are still looking for more participants!

Help meet our $45,000 goal by supporting staff or students who have signed up.  Or be send some words of encouragement by searching for the team – Mueller College 2022 – in the worldsgreatestshave.com

.

One of those who have signed up and is leading the charge with sponsorship is Year 7 student, Laila Salonen. She’s preparing to say goodbye to her long blonde locks in two weeks time saying she’s both nervous and excited for the big chop. When asked what was motivating her she said, ‘I just want to help people. A friend of my Dad had blood cancer and I want to help people like that.’ To those students who might be sitting on the fence of getting involved, she says ‘I would tell other students to just go ahead and do it because hair grows back. People with cancer need it more.’

We can’t wait to cheer on Laila and the rest of the Mueller team as they take such an amazing step for the worthy cause.
