Mueller College attended the St Columbans Chess Invitational for the first time this year. The competition has been running since 2013. There is a teams event, with teams of four, and an individual event. Johan Boobal (10), Oscar Li (11), Riley Clarke (9) and Rylan Dow (10) participated in the team and individual division.
There were 75 entrants in the competition. Rylan Dow finished first with six wins and a draw, giving him a score of 6.5/7. Riley Clarke and Oscar Li achieved a merit on 5 wins out of 7 games. The team finished in first place on 20.5/28, just clearing second and third place by half a point. Congratulations to the team on a very successful first tournament.
