It was the culmination of all their celebrating when the Year 12’s finally finished with their long-anticipated Formal on Friday night. They were decked out in smart suits and stunning dresses as they arrived to blustering winds on the Mueller red carpet. But the weather didn’t stop the excitement of the arrivals with students watching on as their peers rolled up in everything from restored Falcons and Teslas to motorbikes and stretch limos.

After waving goodbye to their parents, they entered MPAC to discover their very own ‘secret garden’ where they would dine and dance the night away. There were speeches and time to take photos with teachers and classmates but it wasn’t long before they officially left Mueller as students for the last time.

Take a look at some of their special evening…

It would not be unusual to be met with a scrunched-up nose when telling someone Mueller students have their formal at school. But thanks to a visionary production team and hard-working catering department, the experience at Mueller makes a ballroom in a city hotel look ho-hum. Each year, MPAC is transformed to fit the theme the Year 12 students choose, but the room’s final look is kept tightly under wraps all year so they get a surprise on the night.

This year, the room was decorated with 4.5m Wisteria trees surrounded by a sea of Jacarandas. Students ate under the branches and the hanging wreaths, taking photos on park benches under ‘street lights’. The kitchen team created a beautiful meal of braised beef brisket, king prawns, pan-roasted chicken breast and some delectable desserts served by the hospitality students.

A huge thank you to these teams who put together such a spectacular event for our Seniors!
