The Aviation department got back in the saddle this term, working on the Savannah S plane build. They’ve welcomed a new batch of Year 10 builders who spent their first session learning some fundamental kit-building skills: snipping, riveting and deburring.
The volunteer build mentors rejoined the team, coming in each Wednesday to support the students. The builders are divided into teams tackling different parts of the plane. The two wing teams are nearing completion, and the fuselage team is not far behind them.
Won’t be long before it is taking to the skies!
