Prayer Week came to a stunning close last week with a final evening worship rally. Secondaries joined in MPAC’s ‘Sanctuary’ to pray and glorify God with over 100 students, staff, visitors from Border Rivers Christian College, and Mueller Community Church friends who were concluding their 100 hours of round-the-clock prayer. Earlier in the week, students had met in breaks to pray for health, ministry, friends, family and restoration, being led by Mueller Worship bands and ministered to by various students as they shared encouragement. They declared the theme of the week with conviction – ‘The Lord will fight for us’.
Over 1300 people had the chance to spend time in the Prayer Walk during the week, which had over 20 stations lovingly set up by volunteer staff and students. Each station had a theme or prompt to guide visitors in prayer for everything from the upcoming Nepal missions to our government leaders, family, fears, and joys, and roughly 15000 prayer responses were gathered at the end of the week. It was particularly poignant to witness the outpouring of beautifully simple and heartbreakingly complex prayers of our young people throughout the interactive space.
The purposeful event hoped to inspire new or continued prayer habits, open hearts and communication with Jesus, and make real change in the lives of students, families, and the wider community as needs, victories, brokenness, and hopes were lifted to God in wholehearted prayer. Most significantly, 4 students made a decision for Christ over the course of the week, and more stories of breakthrough continue to unfold. Take a look at some sacred moments below…
