Brain cancer survivor and founder of the Mark Hughes Foundation joined us on Monday as we kicked off Beanies for Brain Cancer week at Mueller. Mark joined in on assemblies, sharing his ongoing health story and encouraging students to savour the present. He thanked students for their ongoing support and significant fundraising contribution over the last four years, and shared about the foundation’s focus on research with their partners at the University of Queensland.

In the Secondary assembly, Mark got to be a part of an ice-carving competition, readying everyone for the upcoming Big Chill on Friday. Tasked with creating a snowman, ice went flying and his partnership with Mr Stiller came out on top!

Beanies Week continues, and you can contribute by purchasing a beanie before school or in breaks while stocks last. Head to Level 2 of MPAC or outside Mr K’s office in Primary to pick your favourite, with the bonus of voting for your ‘favourite’ teacher to take to the pool in Friday’s Big Chill! All purchases support the Mark Hughes Foundation.
