Tian Markart

Resident water polo legend Tian Markart went to the World Championship last month with his team, the Australian Junior Sharks, finishing the campaign 10th in the world.  Tian made 2 saves in a penalty shoot out against Türkiye which resulted in a crucial win. After defeating the mens NZ team, Tian was awarded Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the match.

Tian also took a trip south to represent Qld in the U18 boys Interstate Exchange Water Polo Championships. His team took the gold and Tian was selected for a Merit Award. Coming up, he’s been selected for the Representative Boys U17 Qld Team and has already started his training for a tournament on our soil at Southport GC in September.

Tian is also a member of U20 Aus Team Squad bound for World Champs 2025, with a selection for teams to come later this year. Keep going strong Tian!

Hudson Sturges

A huge shout out to Year 7 student Hudson Sturges, who recently played in the Touch Football State Championship for the Sunshine Coast team. The team tied for second position on the ladder but ended up 4th due to points for and against. Regardless, it was the best result for the team in over a decade!

Hudson has been playing in the Mueller Touch Academy for the last 3 years and at the Redcliffe Touch Association for the last 5. He’s currently training for the Redcliffe Touch State Cup team and has been refereeing for Caboolture and Redcliffe Touch this year. Good on you Hudson!

Hollie Kuypers

Year 11 student Hollie Kuypers, was recently selected to represent Queensland at the National Youth Championships in Melbourne for soccer. After her team placed 3rd in the State Championship in U13-15 division, this year’s team went on to claim the championship. Hollie has played club football since age five and currently plays for North Lakes United FC. Good job Hollie!

Will Purcell

Well done to Year 7 student Will Purcell who is taking leaps and bounds in tennis. He recently competed for the Sunshine Coast team with an intense week competing for almost 12 hours a day. Will placed an awesome 12th out of 48 competitors, and their team took home 4th overall. Keep it up Will!
