Year 9 Business students encountered a new challenge last term in the form of a Business Showcase. In groups, students were required to create a business and delve into the planning stages, including making marketing plans, researching competitors, breaking down costs & profit projections, investigating scalability and making a long-term plan for growth and success.
The top four groups were given the opportunity to present their plan to a panel, including Mrs McMillan, Mueller’s CFO David Litke, and a representative from ‘Future Anything’, a program designed to empower entrepreneurship in young people and who hosted the competition. From mental health apps, to repurposed pre-loved clothing, the creativity was a reflection of the unique perspective of students as they navigate the world.
Year 11 and 12 Business students came along to see the presentations before roaming the showcase as groups promoted their products and answered questions. Senior students then voted for their favourite business idea. Take a look at some of their displays below…
