This week is Book Week. The Primary School character parade on Tuesday was buzzing with spectacular costumes depicting all sorts of characters from a variety of books and texts. It’s one of the highlights of the year for me!
If you had to read anything for leisure, what would it be? Possibly an article on the benefits of a low-carb diet, a mystery novel, the Fox Sports app with your team’s latest updates or you may enjoy reading your friends’ posts on their social media accounts.
Whatever we choose to read, has the potential to influence and change us.
Reading has a profound impact on the brain, and neuroscience research has provided valuable insights into how it affects brain structure and function. Reading improves working memory, enhances empathy, communication skills and long-term brain health.
At Mueller College not only do we foster a love of reading, but we foster a love of reading God’s Word.
Why do we weave God’s Word into every day at Mueller College?
It’s because we know that God’s Word comforts, nourishes, restores and equips us for everything in life.
Psalm 1:2-3 says, But whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.
May I encourage you to dive into God’s Word, read a bible verse a day, and see how it can have a profound and positive impact on how you think and feel. May you let God’s Word transform your perspective and influence your daily life in ways that extend far beyond the book.
