Last week, Year 11 Film, TV, and New Media students spent the day creating somewhat gruesome artwork as part of their curriculum studies. The group had the opportunity to be trained by a visiting professional makeup artist – not to beautify their faces but rather, to apply special effects like those used on screen.
Burns, scars, cuts and grazes were the order of the day with each student carefully practicing their new skills on themselves. They were sent home with their own small kit of makeup supplies to continue fine-tuning the craft and perhaps take steps toward one day playing a role in the creative industry.
