Today, our class completed an experiment to do with the pendulum. In this experiment, we worked together in teams, and each team had different independent variables to investigate. Our task was to investigate the relationship between our chosen independent variable, and the time in which it took for the pendulum to complete a full cycle (swing back and forth once), which we called a period.

We got our independent variable from a list that we previously brainstormed as a class, which included the length of the string of the pendulum, the height at which it was dropped, and the mass on the end of the pendulum. We then had to set up our stations by thinking outside the box and considering all the factors that should go into collecting accurate, precise, and valid data.

Overall, we all had a heap of fun while getting to practice the new skills we are learning to do with collecting data as correctly as possible.
