From 2006 to 2017, Queensland won an unprecedented eleven out of twelve State of Origin series. This year, they stand on the precipice of yet another period of dominance over NSW, just one win away from a third straight series win and fourth in five years!

Wednesday night saw over 160 Mueller boys and their dads, uncles, granddads, brothers, teachers and mates enjoy game one on the BIG SCREEN. Mueller’s annual Dads and Sons Origin night hit fever pitch as the Queensland dominant crowd cheered the Maroons on to another famous win.

The night sees a community of Mueller men enjoy time together over a massive footy feed, which includes footy staples such as chicko rolls, pies, chips, nachos, burgers, dagwood dogs, soft drink and ice-creams. It’s almost like you are eating at Suncorp stadium! Games, prizes, giveaways and, of course, watching the game on the biggest screen on the Redcliffe peninsular also make up this action packed event.

Additionally, and just as importantly, the night serves to raise funds for the Commando Welfare Trust. This charity was founded in 2010 to establish a perpetual safety net for Special Operations Command (SOCOMD) soldiers, veterans and family members. They provide instant access to emergency funding and long-term financial support where the system cannot. They also support family members of soldiers and veterans who have been killed, injured or have taken their own life while covering the medical or mental health costs for SOCOMD members serving, in transition or discharged.

Mueller continues to commit to partnering with the Commando Welfare Trust in raising awareness and funds for a charity that embodies what state of origin footy promotes – mate standing alongside mate. This year over $600 was raised from the night.

Thank you to everyone who came and contributed. With the result going the way of the Maroons, it really was a great night to be a Queenslander!
