Congratulations to all the Mueller Aviation teams for excellent results in this year’s UAV Challenge. We had 3 teams this year, ‘Space Jam’ and the ‘Rescue Raccoons’ who are in the Yr10 STEM/Aerospace class, and the ‘Marvels’, our all-girls team from Yr11 Aerospace Systems. This year’s competition featured schools from around Queensland and interstate as well as four schools from the USA. The Marvels, with limited time available to them, did extremely well and although had technical difficulties with their drone, scored the highest with their technical report. Space Jam worked extremely well as a team and were in first place after the oral presentation was completed, but it was the Rescue Raccoons who performed best overall from Mueller with  2nd place upon competition completion, just half a point behind winners from the US, the Mojave Hawks. Final scores were 92.4 for the Hawks and 91.9 for the Raccoons. Space Jam came 4th with 89.6 points – that’s only 2.8 points behind 1st place. The Marvels were down the order a little but can still hold their heads high. Well done team!
