This week we introduce you to new teacher, Karen Partridge…

What brought you to Mueller?
God really prompted me to check if any positions were vacant at Mueller. That was surprising because I thought I was happy where I was doing contract and relief teaching. So, I stepped out in faith to apply here at Mueller in a full-time position and the welcome was fantastic!

What is your current role?
I am teaching Yr 8 Humanities, Year 9 History and Essential Maths, and I also manage a group of Year 7 students in Learning Assistance.

What are you most passionate about in teaching/your role?
I love teaching and finding out how students learn. My greatest passion is Art teaching, though I love to engage with students in any subject. Sometimes it’s a challenge, especially as students get used to me, but I always end up loving my classes and most kids enjoy my lessons (usually in hindsight!).

What was your very first job?
My first job was as a weekend dental assistant in country NSW, Binalong. My first teaching job was in the railway town of Junee in NSW, teaching Art.

Coffee of choice?
Flat white or iced latte on the hot days.
