Our Preps, Year One, and Year Two are soaking up all the Early Years Week festivities this week with activities designed to celebrate and stimulate their age group.

The students are exploring the idea of ‘What I want to be or do when I grow up’. Monday saw the Preps have a visit from an Electrician, a Nurse, an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, and Police Officers to share more about what they do. Question time was hard-hitting as students got a chance to grill each visitor. Mr Archer, the engineer, was asked ‘Who flies the planes?’ and Mr Cook, the electrician, was asked ‘Why don’t birds get a shock when they sit on power lines?’. Mrs Cooper, the nurse, was asked, ‘Why do you wear those clothes?’ and Officers Brett and Brent showed the curious audience their range of equipment before answering questions like ‘Who are the bad guys?’ and ‘Where do the bad guys live?’

On Monday afternoon, the whole Early Years cohort got to have an Aerobics workshop in the Lacey Centre. With Mr Ware bringing the fun factor and Year 7 PE students on hand to demonstrate the moves, all the classes got a chance to ‘move it, move it’.
