This week Mueller Aviation had a special guest visitor as they welcomed Clay from Insitu, a subsidiary of Boeing.

Clay brought along a ScanEagle drone to show the Junior MUROC students (Yrs 7-9). One of the Year One classes also scored an invite to the STEM/Aerospace room so as not to miss out on the action! Their curly questions certainly kept everyone on their toes!

The aircraft Clay brought is decommissioned making it perfect for little hands to explore. It has a 28cc motor and with a 5-liter fuel tank, can fly for up to 24 hours or even longer in ideal conditions. This particular aircraft has flown on overseas deployments and has also been involved in the whale-spotting trial off North Stradbroke Island that involved integrating its operations with full-sized aviation.

Thank you to Insitu and Clay for taking the time to visit us.
