Beanies for Brain Cancer week has got off to a cracking start. The beanie stall has been a popular stop with lots of variety this year. Students also have the incentive of receiving nomination slips with their purchase, using them to vote for which of their teachers they want to participate in the Big Chill on Friday.
What is the Big Chill you ask? A giant inflatable slide that will deliver its users into a pool containing 500kg of ice! There will be a slushie stall ($2) on hand as the school gathers to see which teachers win the popular (or unpopular?) vote and take the plunge.
Assembly saw a flash beanie fashion parade demonstrating ‘there is a beanie for everyone’. Then Mrs Wigmore took to the couch to share her family’s journey of losing her father to brain cancer last year showing students you don’t have to look far to encounter someone who has been impacted by the disease. Many at Mueller already have with the loss of student, Asher Mashonganyika, in 2019. The annual basketball played in his honour happened on Tuesday with a Year 10 All Star team taking on the teachers.
