Year 7 students have been learning the basics of cricket as they launch into the year. While some were learning for the first time about ‘runs’ and ‘wickets’, others couldn’t contain themselves, ignoring the instruction of small, controlled batting and opting instead to swing for the fences! They each had turns batting, bowling, wicket-keeping and fielding, and learnt some technique for each role.
