Every generation has their own unique set of challenges. Growing up, you may remember the struggles you faced and no doubt your own parents have used the words ‘when I was growing up…’ and this sentence usually ended with ‘we had to walk 5 miles to school in the rain, with no shoes!’ The challenges facing our young people today do not usually entail walking long distances or other forms of physical challenges. Instead, they come in the form of decisions they need to make in privacy, and often with full access to the full extent of a bad decision.

This editorial is a shameless plug for this Friday night’s Parenting Seminar, ‘Parenting the Sexuality Maze’. The challenges our young people face often come from a seemingly innocent chat room or email link. As parents, we want to provide a balance between access to the modern world and protecting them from the dangers that hide in the shadows. And we cannot watch our children 24/7. The Parent Seminar will be a good insight in to the Sexuality Maze of today’s generation.

The best protection is to guard our hearts and minds. It is important that we prepare our young people’s minds with up to date knowledge of the world around them and the consequences of their decisions. It is even more important to prepare the heart with right desires. Training our children in righteousness is foundational to life choices. At Mueller, we believe these desires will come from a knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Whether you are just starting out with a preppie or close to finishing your time at Mueller, I encourage you to attend the Parenting Seminar.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
