No matter what, He wants us to grow and be free.

9 “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; Deuteronomy 7:9

As parents and carers, we want our children to soar and reach their potential and there can be times where choices made by our children or their peers can cause us to fear. This fear can be debilitating, it can create anger or frustration, it can even feed unhealthy competition. However, God the ultimate parent, in His unconditional love and sacrifice, He constantly pursues us despite our choices and wants us to be at peace and free and reach the unique potential He has placed in us. As teachers, we want our students to know this love and to foster an atmosphere where they feel safe, to try, make mistakes, to learn, to serve others and to grow.

You may also have that one thing that you personally may have thought about or done to, yourself or someone else, that in the quietness of your heart, you feel is unresolved or even brings a sense of shame. God knows this and He is neither embarrassed or angry about it. He wants to take that from us and replace it with healing and peace. He wants this for us so much, He sent His son Jesus to take our place of all punishments and shame that we deserve. A sacrifice so big, yet He did it for each of us and He did it because no matter what, His love for us is unconditional.

There may even be seasons where it all seems too much, with all the walls feeling like they are closing in at once. It’s in these times that God desperately wants us to know He’s there and will and can help us. We just need to ask, listen and act on what He says and provides for us, even if we know that more pain may be ahead, before things get better.

This is life and we want our culture to be one that celebrates, learning, growing, diversity and inclusion of all students at all times. We want our students to experience all of who God is and can be for them, through the modeling of His love and His ability to only see the good in us and to love us into the fullness of our potential. No matter what is happening in our lives, no matter how well or bad things are, He is always calling us to Him and to live a life with Him, free. Free to love, free to learn, free to forgive and free to grow and share.

I encourage you to find some time to take stock of all that you have and be thankful and always find a space to cherish your children.
