“Prayer is not the least we can do for someone; prayer is the most we can do.” (Unknown)

This week is Prayer Week at Mueller College. Throughout the week, there have been different opportunities for students and staff to engage in prayer, worship, and learn more about prayer. Some students and staff have participated in the prayer walk, which has many different activities to reflect, pray and focus on God and His promises. There have also been times for students to engage in worship and prayer together, from our youngest students in Prep through to Year 12’s. In class, students have been learning more about what prayer is, and how we can pray.

But prayer is far more than one week out of the school calendar at Mueller. Prayer is the foundation on which Mueller College has been built. Mueller started with some faithful men and women praying. Praying for a school, praying for God’s provision of resources for the school, and praying for the school to impact the community in a mighty way. God’s many answers to the prayers of a faithful few are the reason we all get to enjoy the incredible Christ-centred community that is Mueller College.

30+ years later, Mueller continues to be a powerful praying community. My family has experienced this firsthand, particularly over the last year, as I battled cancer.  The Mueller community, our village, loved our family in an extraordinary way and the most impactful way, through prayer.  Your prayers carried us through a time we couldn’t do alone. God answered your prayers and gave us peace and strength on even our toughest days, and our family will be forever grateful.

A praying community is what sets this school apart, what makes this such a unique and precious place. Prayer week isn’t just another event at Mueller, but rather a powerful reminder of the difference prayer makes and an encouragement to keep praying for our school, each other, and our community.

1Thessalonians 5:16-18

16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Give thanks no matter what happens. God wants you to thank him because you believe in Christ Jesus.
