Swim gear, sunscreen, and plenty of excitement are just a few things you will find at our Primary and Secondary swimming carnivals this week. Every year, the swimming carnivals are a much-anticipated event that brings together students, teachers, and parents for a time of fun and competition.

Students will proudly wear their house colours and chant their house cheers, building school spirit and creating a sense of unity and pride. Teachers and parents also get involved, either by taking on roles as judges, timers, or simply by cheering their hearts out. Whether it is a first-place winner or the last, every participant receives applause and recognition for their effort. This nurturing environment encourages students to strive for personal improvement and instils important life lessons of sportsmanship, persistence, and teamwork.

The swimming carnivals are events that showcase the hard work, dedication, and swimming talents of our students. Each individual has a unique set of gifts, and the swimming carnival is the perfect occasion to celebrate these God-given gifts and talents. Not only do we get to celebrate students’ outstanding athletic abilities, but we also get to celebrate our great God, who created them this way.  In the bible it says;

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

PSALM 139:13-14

God knit us together in our mother’s womb and we are wonderfully made. We weren’t made by mistake, but God has created us, and has given us each different strengths and abilities. The swimming carnival is a great opportunity for the school community to come together and celebrate our students swimming achievements and their God-given talents.  We welcome families to come along to our swimming carnivals on Thursday, where we’ll once again make a splash and create memories that will last a lifetime.
