As I celebrated Mother’s Day with my family I was reminded once again of how blessed I am to be a parent. Parenthood is a life-changing experience, making it a gift that should be cherished and appreciated.

We have the privilege of loving and nurturing our children from the moment they are born, watching them grow and develop into their own unique person. The love between a parent and child is an incredibly powerful bond that brings a deep sense of joy and purpose to life. Being a parent also provides the opportunity to witness the world through the eyes of a child. Children have a natural curiosity and wonder about the world, and as a parent, we get to share in their excitement and discovery. Whether it’s watching your child take their first steps, exploring the outdoors, or discovering a new hobby. It allows us to see the world in a fresh and exciting way.

As a parent, we are constantly faced with new challenges and experiences that require us to learn and adapt. Whether it’s learning how to soothe a crying baby, managing a toddler’s tantrums, or navigating the complexities of adolescence. Despite the many challenges of parenthood, the rewards are immeasurable…watching your child grow and develop into their own unique person, sharing in their successes and failures, and being there to offer support and guidance along the way is an incredible privilege. Being a parent is a gift. It brings a sense of purpose and meaning to life that is truly priceless.

Psalm 127:3 says, “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.”

This verse reminds us that children are not only a blessing but also a responsibility given to us by God.  As parents, we are called to cherish and nurture our children, to raise them up in the ways of the Lord and to guide them as they grow and develop into the people God created them to be.  It is a great privilege to be entrusted with the care of God’s precious gifts and we should never take this responsibility lightly.
